About Me

My story begins with being a single mother of a spunky 11-year-old girl. After my husband passed away I discovered I needed more flexibility in my work schedule. With some planning, I found that I could take a break from a full-time work schedule to find an alternative. That’s when I found a class in Web Design/Development. What I discovered is that the skills necessary for Web Design/Development are a compilation of my life experience. Starting as a teenager writing simple programs for fun gave me a solid base for coding. Two years in art school provided me with experience in creating visually appealing designs. Running a custom printed t-shirt business for 10 years gave me a solid understanding of what a client wants. Finally, my degree in accounting helps me keep costs in line. After my first online class, I designed, coded, and published a website for Superior Speech Solutions, LLC. I have since updated it with skills learned in CareerFoundry’s mentored Web Development course.
